Lies are Like Weeds - They are Hard to Stop

        This is a very short personal comment. 

        Over the past few weeks, a citizen of NRH has taken it on himself launch a mean spirited attack on me personally based on knowingly false information.  He has done such a good job of it, some citizens in our city have believed his rhetoric without even trying to see what the NRHOnline website was all about or what I was fighting for.

        One of the lies is that I am some type of hidden candidate that will attempt to "control" the citizens who have given up their time and resources in an effort to recapture the city for the citizens.  I am not a candidate, "the candidate" nor am I in control of the challengers.  Further, I have no desire to control any of them.  I do not control nor try to control either Jo Cox or Nancy Bielik, both of whom I campaigned with and both of whom  I have high admiration of.

        My "negative" vision for the city is that it be open, honest and responsive to the citizens.  I would like for our government to represent all the citizens fairly and not just the closed club of the privileged few.  This is not to divide the city, rather to create a level playing field where all citizens have equal opportunity and where the citizens viewpoints are considered by the elected officials.

        Most of what is said on the incumbents website is lies that are the fabrication of the spokesman for the incumbents.  He knows they are not factual but he also knows that most people will not do any research to see what is really true or false.  Most will not read the opposing view points and most people really don't care anyway.  It was our own apathy that allowed the current closed club to gain control of our city and the very mean spirited campaign they are waging means they do not want to give up control easily. 

        The spokesman for the incumbents avoids being sued for slander by ending every comment with "But that's just my opinion."

        Lies are easily spoken and hard to stop.  For any who don't already know, I have offered to retract or correct anything on this website that is factually proven false.  None of the incumbents have submitted anything suggesting such errors exist on this site, nor has their spokesperson.  I have not heard the powers that be even suggest that they would submit their claims to such a statement.

        The only defense to such malicious work is an informed citizen.   Please take time to really read both sides of the campaign.
