Fifteen Years of Tax Hikes!

    Don't know if anyone is aware of or cares about our local tax issues but just in case you

are watching, the local City Council has voted unanimously to raise your taxes for the 15th consecutive

time.  As always, the increase is greater than the rate of population growth and inflation.  As always, the increase is couched

in deceptive language about "holding the rate" and this despite the new state laws requiring truth in taxation that says it is

truly an increase.

    Will your taxes go up?  The answer is yes if the Tarrant Appraisal District raised the value of your property this

year.  If they missed you this year, then the increase will catch up with you in the next two years.  By the use of ever increasing

property valuations, local city governments can increase your taxes by "holding the rate".  Don't be deceived, they do know that

they are increasing taxes.

    How much of an increase the year?   How about

    Over 7 years this rate of increase will DOUBLE your property taxes.
